About us

JESUS SAID TO HIM, “I AM THE WAY, AND THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE; NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER BUT BY ME.” – JOHN 14:6

Holy Trinity is an Anglican community of faith committed to loving God and loving others in South Haven, Southwest Michigan, and the world.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we look to scripture and church tradition as the foundation of our belief.
As Anglicans, we believe that the ancient worship and rhythms of the Church can help us as we seek to follow God in the modern world.

Our Values:

Community

We think of community as… the powerful witness of loving one another as Jesus has loved us.

We value it by… spending time together on Sunday mornings and throughout the week and by emphasizing authenticity, hospitality, reconciliation, and mutual support in countless practical forms.
Worship

We think of worship as… the corporate experience of encountering the Lord in spirit and truth.

We value it by… prioritizing Sunday morning “church” and ordering the rhythms and routines of our lives around all that takes place there.
 Discipleship

We think of discipleship as… the life-long process of becoming like Christ.

We value it by… approaching everything we do as an opportunity to participate in the Spirit’s work of making us more like Jesus in our character, thoughts, words, and deeds.
Prayer

We think of prayer as… the disciplined pursuit of connecting with God through unceasing conversation.

We value it by… inviting God into all aspects of our lives, speaking to Him in the way we would speak to our closest friend and then learning to hear His voice in return.
Mission

We think of mission as… the costly commitment of sharing the privileges of God’s kingdom with others.

We value it by… looking around at the world, imagining what it would look like if God were in charge of everything, and then doing what we can to make it more like that. Learn about the several missions we support in our community and abroad.

Prayer & Devotions

Family of the Week

For our family of the week: 12/22 Mathew Rahrig, 12/29 Brian & Jocelyn Reed and their family and 1/5 Walt & Kathy Sicard, and for all the blessings of this life, let us give thanks to the Lord.

Lord, in your mercy.
Hear our prayer

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations.  Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from reader to host and everything in between.

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others,
faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
1 Peter 4:10

Servant Opportunities at Holy Trinity:

Greeters

The greeter at our church fills an important role. They are the first smile to greet our visitors. They are responsible for helping visitors, answering questions, and providing direction. The greeter is a servant-hearted volunteer whose ministry is integral to church life.

Music

God-honoring worship is something we strive for.  We use a unique blend of traditional hymns and contemporary praise music. We currently are in need of new praise band members!

Readers

God’s Word is a part of our worship every Sunday. Each week, in addition the Gospel reading read by our priest, we have a reading from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament read by a lay reader. The reader will receive a copy of these two readings a week in advance for prayerful practice and study.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during communion, an intercessor is available to pray with you at our healing altar. Throughout the week, volunteers from our intercessory team receive prayer requests from our church, community, and beyond. They pray for intercessions such as thanksgivings, healing, miracles, God’s  providence, employment, guidance, inner peace, comfort in grief, and spiritual safety.

Additionally, we have an intercessor lead us in the Prayers of the People liturgy during Sunday worship. That intercessor does not have be part of our weekly prayer warriors,

Chalice Bearer

We celebrate communion each Sunday. The chalice bearer serves the wine and the liturgical words,
“The blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was shed for you, preserve your body and soul to everlasting life.”

Hosts

Each Sunday, following our time of worship, we gather in the fellowship hall for Coffee Hour. A time to connect with each other, perhaps a conversation stemming from the sermon, or simply catching up with one another. We nibble on treats and a great cup of coffee. (Juice and tea are also available.) The host provides the treats and juice.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild ministry exists to serve God in His house by preparing the Sanctuary for worship. Altar guild members receive instruction in setting up for services, removal and cleansing of vessels and linens after the services, as well as the care of the various vestments.

An Invitation to a Healing Journey

Dr. Terry Wardle, author of the Journey Curriculum used in healing care groups, has a series of five 20-25 minute videos that explore why it is important for Christians to be on a healing journey. These short sessions introduce the topic of emotional wounding and can be used to help cast a hopeful vision for deep healing and transformation available through Christ. You can access these videos and an accompanying listening guide (that can be used individually or in groups) on our website here. These videos would be helpful reminders to those who have participated in Journey groups as well as a good overview of what participation in a Journey group looks like to those who may wish to participate. A group will begin in January. Contact Kathy Sicard if you are interested.
